1. Service Categories – These are the categories each community service has been grouped. Checking one on will show them on the map and fill up the Service List (11). You can check on multiple categories at a time.
  2. Address Search – This box allows you to locate any address on the map. Type in the address then click the Find Address button. Be sure to type in the city and state as well using the example as a guide
  3. Reset Map – This button will return the map to its original zoom level and remove all the services.
  4. Show Bus Routes – This button turns on the bus routes for Council Bluffs. They are red.
  5. Update/Submit – Click this button to submit a new service, update an existing service, or to remove a service. The subcommittee will review each submission.
  6. View Table – To view the entire list without a map click this button. There are several services that are in the table but not on the map for various reasons.
  7. Help – You should know what this button does.
  8. Navigation Tools – The four (4) arrows move the map north, south, east or west. The slider bar will zoom the map in or out depending on the direction you slide it. You can also use the + or – sign to bump the slider one position.
  9. Views - Click these to display different views, including the map, aerial imagery or both (hybrid).
  10. Marker – Click the marker to view its information window.
  11. Service List – This list populates when Service Categories (1) are checked on. Within this list is the letter of the service which corresponds to a Marker (10) on the map. Click the Service Name to center the map and locate the service. Some of the services will also contain links to their respective web sites.
  12. Administrative Information – This area displays information about the site, provides a disclaimer, offers contact information, and gives you the opportunity to fill out a survey (which we’d appreciate).
  13. Overview Map – This map gives you some perspective of where you are within the metro area of Omaha. You can move the blue box to move the main map. Also, by clicking the arrow in the lower right corner the map will minimize.

Navigating the map with your mouse:
You can navigate (move your view) in two dimensions in any Google Map. To pan (move the map), do one of the following:
Additionally, you can zoom in or out pressing the + or - keys. Move the cursor over a location and use the mouse scroll button to zoom in or out on that location. To center and zoom in on a location, double click the location.
